Over the weekend, Spanish police were able to break up a network of jihadists backing ISIS. As a result, five people suspected of working with DAESH terrorists were arrested.
As part of a two-and-a-half-year probe into terrorism, this operation revealed a group that planned two attacks and paid for jihadists with cryptocurrency that they got from doing illegal things in Europe. The cops said they had taken €200,000 in cryptocurrency from the group.

One of the people who was taken was said to have become radicalized in the months before they were caught and was about to carry out an attack. When police searched their home, they found handgun ammo and an axe. During the raid, jihadist propaganda, manuals for making bombs, and materials for teaching children were also taken.
Authorities started the investigation when they found someone working with a jihadist in Spain to plan a terrorist attack in France. This led to a joint operation between Switzerland and Spain, which led to the arrest of eight people. It was found that the first two radicals were part of a larger group of people on three countries who were supporting ISIS.
After that, Spanish police worked with police from twelve other European, Middle Eastern, and Maghreb countries on an anti-terror probe that led to the arrests on Saturday.
