As of December 19th, Immutable, the company that publishes games on Web3, has shown off its newest payment system, which it calls “Immutable Passport.”
This clever way of logging in gets rid of the need for users to remember seed words, making the process easier to use and safer. With Immutable Passport, users can make wallets and get them back using well-known details, like an email address or a Google or Apple account.

Along with the release of Immutable Passport, it is being added to five well-known games and apps: Gods Unchained, Blocklete Golf, B/R Watch 2 Earn, TokenTrove, and AtomicHub. There are more than 500,000 users of these apps combined, according to the official statement.
Along with the wallet infrastructure, Immutable has added a full dashboard that shows up immediately when you log in. As a central hub for players, this dashboard makes it easy for them to find new games, handle their money, connect third-party wallets, and keep an eye on all of their in-game items from a single, familiar interface.
The strategic move that Immutable made is in line with its goal to make Web3 games easier to use. A consumer study released in August found that gamers are twice as likely to sign up for a wallet using Immutable Passport as they are for traditional wallet options. This is a big change in this area.

When people sign up with an email address, Immutable uses the Magic software development kit to make the signup process safer. The process starts with creating a private key during the first login. This key is then protected and kept safely in an Amazon Web Services Hardware Security Module (HSM). The key to the HSM is managed by a device-specific token sent to the user via email. This means that Immutable and Magic do not have access to it. This way of doing things makes Passport seem like a “noncustodial” login option, which means that users don’t have to give Immutable their money.
With Immutable Passport, the company has taken another step toward making Web3 games easier for players. Immutable added Transak as a payment method for its games earlier in December, giving players more options for how they can buy things.
The company also said on December 13th that it would be adding a gas-free transaction choice to its zkEVM platform in 2024. This will make the Web3 gaming ecosystem even better for users.
