Poker players will soon learn how much more fun it is to play in an immersive Web3 environment, according to Gala Games creator Eric Schiermeyer.
A new Web3 social poker game called PokerGO Play will be released as a result of a partnership between PokerGO and Gala Games, a GameFi project. Users will be able to improve and upgrade their players thanks to this cooperation, which also gives them the chance to win tangible goods. PokerGO Play will begin its beta testing phase in June, and a complete release is anticipated for later in the year.
PokerGO unveiled its Genesis nonfungible tokens (NFT) collection in May 2022, which represented all conceivable Texas Hold’em beginning hand combinations. With a floor price of 0.1 ETH and a total trading volume of 52 Ether, the collection has experienced remarkable growth. NFT owners have benefited from benefits like chances to win money, mementos, and goods when their hand emerges in winning situations.
Gala Games and PokerGO hope to give players an engaging and gratifying social gaming experience by utilizing the cutting-edge capabilities of Web3 technology and fusing them with the thrill of poker. The two sites’ cooperation creates new avenues for incorporating NFTs and blockchain technology into the realm of online poker.
As part of the May 22 announcement, developers wrote:
“PokerGO Genesis NFT holders will receive beneficial status within the game, and the two sides plan to host special events inside the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas.“
Gala is the developer behind a series of Ethereum-based play-to-earn blockchain games. On May 18, Gala developers announced that it had burned over 21 billion Gala (GALA) tokens worth approximately $640 million after the protocol’s v2 airdrop.
