She initially believed that her husband, who made $3 million year, had hidden some of his assets that would be divided between them during the divorce.
The divorce case of a New York couple changed course after a forensic accountant assisted in finding the husband’s cache of 12 Bitcoins, which he had planned to conceal from his wife.
The couple in question had been married for ten years, but the man’s wife had suspicions that he had withheld some of the assets that would be divided between them in the event of their divorce. The housewife, identified only by the pseudonym Sarita, told CNBC that her husband was making $3 million a year, which was far more than his disclosed assets.
Having no clue about the Bitcoin investment, Sarita stated:
“It was never even a thought in my mind because it’s not like we were discussing it or making investments together. It was definitely a shock.”
The woman’s husband will thus have to sell some of his Bitcoin holdings.
